I can't seem find if there is a difference, if any, between the 22a and the 22a-1?

I took mine to the range yesterday. Purdy smooth shooter. My dad bought it a few years ago and only shot it once. I can only find one mag with it but it shoots well and I cleaned it up good yesterday too. Nice gun for the money if you ask me.

The only difference I see is that my 22A-1 is camo finished but, I would of appreciated if S&W would of put Pachmayr rubber camoflaged grips on it instead of the camo hard plastic grips that came on it.

SCSW says that they improved it to reduce breakage to the barrel assembly during field stripping.

I seem to recall that the hook on the back of the barrel assembly was part of the casting on the 22A, and it is a screwed on piece of steel on the 22A-1.

You can see the hook on the extreme upper left in the picture below:



Or maybe it's the lower hook, I'm not sure. But I'm pretty sure that some part of the spot where the barrel assembly hooks onto the rest of the gun was what they changed.
