I bought a NIB Mod. 41 (no dash) pre-A serial number with Exendable Front Sight (EFS) at Tulsa last weekend. It is in the pre-Banger Punta box. This is only the 3rd EFS Mod. that I have seen. Anyone have any idea of the total production of the EFS models? Anyone have an EFS with later dash numbered Model?

I have a pre A and an A Series both with EFS. Not sure how many EFS barrels were shipped installed or how many were bought as extra barrels for existing Model 41's Would you mind telling what you paid for it out the door? I'm curious bought both mine as shooters just the pistols and one magazine. I paid $550 for the A series and $425 for the pre A.

I paid $1k for it. I have been looking for one for over a year & since this one is new in the original box, numbered to the gun with papers & "Ext. FS" on the box, I knew that I would regret it if I passed on it.
I also picked up a NIB Mod. 46 there also. The Wananmacher show is always "Hazardous To My Wealth" One thing good about it though, It's like Alice's Restaurant; "You Can Get Anything You Want".

The EFS was added in 1965 (70,000 range) and dropped in 1976 (A300,000 range) and had both the Lazy "&" and later the standard "&". As to number of EFS pistols shipped and EFS bbls shipped - SWAG 3000-6000????

Thanks to Carl & Tom for your info. I haven't seen any EFS's on the forum or the auction sites. Maybe I'm just not looking at the right times.
Tom, do you know where can I find poduction numbers on Smith's? I have a 3" Mod. 547 9mm & a Mod. 58 .41 Mag & have been unable to find production numbers on them or my PC compensated guns. Thanks, Art

I have a later version A290XXX series, paid a bit more than you did, but ANIB complete, they don't show up all that often for sale, but there are quite a few of them around.

V35 the best source of info is Supica Nahas Std Catalogue of S&W. As to units produced, you might try Roy Jinks at S&W, but generally unit production is not published by Manufacturers
