I found one for 457 with 3 mags at my local shop for $250.00. The thing is, I don't know anything about these pistols. Are they any good?

Thanks!

You'll have to show me how a magazine goes in a 547...seeing how it is a revolver.

If it's a 457, a compact 7+1 45, thats an excellent price. The mags alone, go for $30 a piece.

Very reliable light weight, good capacity, accurate compact 45. You could easily sell it if you didn't like it. But whats not to like with a 45 for $250??!!! Regards 18DAI.

Model 19 Combat Magnum. Everything you need in a revolver, and nothing you don't.

Maybe a bit of dislexia here. Big Grin

If it's a 457, as already noted, that's a great price. Get it. Fine gun. I have one. Carried it for years.

Pistol and Handgun are often used to refer to a firearm that is held and fired with one hand. If you want to be really specific, you can use revolver, semi-automatic, single-shot, etc.

Ok,

Here's my new (to me) S&W 457 Semi-auto TDA Pistol.

Fired 100 rounds through it the other night, no jams, hiccups, etc. I put 50 rounds of FMJ CCI Brass ammo through it and then various Hollowpoint rounds I have had lying around. All in all, a pretty impressive package.
Pics are here:

This is it with its new friend the 3913, IMHO the best single stack 9MM carry gun in existence.

Congratulations on the great deal you got on your M-457.

I own the M-457S, the stainless steel version of this gun and have been very happy with it.

These models (457/457S) are just as reliable as the 9mm 3913 series.

Mine has never given me a bit of problems and is on my "Keeper" list.
