I think the "curved backstrap" is a function of the molded plastic grip & the straight style grip from the 1006(?) can be substituted. B.

The 1006 10mm and the 4505 4506 series guns all use the same plastic grips. The straight and palm swell grips can be ordered from S&W approx 15 20 bucks a pair.

I didn't care for either the straight or curved Delron backstrap on my 4566 but did find the Hogue rubber grips to work just fine. Regards, Jerry

This is not scientific by any means, but I have never seen a 4505 for sale, whereas I see 4506's for sale all the time. If in really clean or like new condition, I would keep the 4505 in that condition and pick up a much more available 4506 for shooting. JMO
