I am very interested in one of the new long slide Pro series pistols. I can tell that it does not have the key lock but I cannot determine if it has the magazine safety. My best guess is that it does not, but it does not say on the S&W site. Any info would be great.

Thanks,

Dwight

I currently have one on order. The pistol does not have a magazine disconnect safety.

Hope that helps.

Right side slide is marked Caution: Capable of firing with magazine removed.
Last Thursday the S&W Sports Shooting Center had three (now two) in stock for sale. Not in display counter because they can't be sold in Mass. yet.
Ask for Peter, manager.

I purchased an M&P 9 Pro last week instead of a Glock 34 based on the recommendation of a fellow shooters. It's currently with a gunsmith, getting a trigger job...again after multiple recommendations of guys I shoot with. Trigger was not bad from the factory, but, my new gunsmith reportedly performs magic on the M&P's. Will f/up after my first trip to the range. This is my first polymer framed gun. I mostly shoot 1911's...and steel SIG's. Love the S&W Performance Center guns! Pick up a S&W PC Doug Koenig .38 Super if you want a GREAT GUN!

I have one of the 9mm pro`s and like it a lot. Mine does not have the internal lock and does not have the mag disconnect either. Interestingly, it does not have the warning on the slide about being capable of firing with the mag removed. I looked at a couple of others at the dealer that had the warning on them.

I picked one up today at a local dealer. No locks, warning is marked on the slide. Looks great, feels great! I can't wait to get out and shoot it!

Mine came with no disconnect and a warning. I don't know if this the standard configuration or not, but I do know that when I bought my M&P9 standard, they were shipping them both with and without disconnects.

Both of mine seem to have the ILS, but neither gun came with a key. Go figure.

Picked up gun from gunsmith last night. Trigger job made pistol shoot fantastic! After 30 rounds, rear sight came loose and drifted...took me a few minutes to figure out why my groups went to $hit! Borrowed an Allen wrench and tightened rear sight...but it came loose again. Will apply some blue Locktite and run some more rounds thru the pistol later this weekend...first impression doesn't meet PC standards.

Have the gunsmith fix it, he probably did it. The M&P rear sight holds the striker safety in, gunsmiths remove it 99% of the time in the course of the trigger job to polish the plunger. He apparently put it back in loose.
