Hi Moo.
I previously had an alloy-framed 5943 as a duty gun. It digested many thousands of rounds over the course of the 10 years that I carried it. I also once had a 5904 and a 3914; and, I currently have a CS-9. So I have a bit of experience with Smith & Wesson's alloy frames. It is fairly common to see some wear on the frame rails. This is usually most noticeable when the pistol is new. As it breaks in, the wear marks generally reach a certain point and don't get any worse. All that is really wearing off are the high points on the frame rails. Don't worry about the marks. Shoot your pistol and enjoy it. It is doubtful that you will wear it out. HRF |
