Sorry for not responding sooner, just spotted this thread, almost missed it during me daily quick ‘lurk’. I am definitely in for a set of replacement grips for my CS9. I love everything about this pistol, except I just don’t carry it due to the over-stuffed rubber (too sticky for me) grips.

Never mind the CS9. I have no problems with those grips. It is the CS40 that Im having problems with. Way too wide for my hand.

I have to agree with you surveyor47. The CS9 grip at least feels good. It is just not ideal for the guns intended purpose. I could never get comfortable with the CS40 grip though, it always feet un-natural to me.

Okay, I've got 15 for sure then thanks.

Update: Eagle said they won't do it, I was told it was too complex to make grips that have to wrap around. They said they don't have the equipment for it.

Ajax said they don't make any custom grips at all anymore. I also called the # for woodgrips.com and they also said they don't make custom grips.

If you guys can post some companies that do make custom grips that would help. I've been checking, and almost everything that comes up is just regular grip companies, and A LOT of 1911 stuff. I'm going to keep on trying though, but if you can post here a place to try I'll look into it. Also, if anyone else wants to call somewhere and try that is fine with me.

Thanks again!

Guys I'm still making phone calls. I'm waiting to hear back on a "maybe" e-mail from someone. I also just found out about Roy Fishpaw, I'm going to try calling that number next. Please let me know if anyone else finds some possibilities, thanks!

Go ahead and e-mail them if you don't mind. The only problem I see is that they say it's shipped from Europe, so I take it they are in Europe as well. If they don't have a CS9 on hand, which I doubt they do, how do they make the grips? I don't mind shipping my gun to an FFL holder in the USA, but I can't see myself shipping it over seas.

We can try though. I continue to look, and the one maybe I had, has not gotten back to me. I'm still looking though. Thanks to all.

Guys I have come up with nothing. Most places won't even do custom grips, and if they do no one seems to be able to make the grips. Everyone keeps saying its difficult because of how the main spring is at the rear like it is, and how the grip has to wrap around the back. I don't think we'll find anyone. Frowner

There was/is a post on this forum about two people that had modified other model S&W grips to fit their CS45 (they do look very nice). I wonder if a CS9 owner would be willing to undertake a similar project, then, if successful, sell some to us mechanically challenged people.

You can take 3913 grips and modify them, its been done. It does take a lot of work, and you have to grind away a lot of material. You also have to take the hogue insert piece that the mainspring slides into and grind away on that as well. I tried it but couldn't get it to fit very well, and just wasn't 100% confident in the whole set-up to be reliable.

I still hope I'll be able to find someone willing to make some grips. We have about 15 grips "spoken for" already, and you think a grip maker would like the fact that he/she would be the only person offering replacement grips for the CS9. I have not given up hope.
