naked pics required.....will someone please post a pic or two of a CS9 without the grip installed (mine is away having some dehorning and refinishing). The guy in Europe who may be able to make the grips needs some pics. Thanks

aspman, if someone does not post by tomorrow, I will.

Cleaning the garage today preparing for a living room make overRoll Eyes, according to the wife.

I am interested on what is being done to your CS9 in the area of dehorning.

One of my biggest problems is, I cant leave well enough alone.

I personally dont like the squareness or blockiness of the slide and plan to do dehorn or reshape this myself to a more standard third gen smith style.

I might wait to see how yours turns out, but then again, my files are handy and my dremel is lacking run time.

I may even get the "Chief's Special" diamond engraved on the slide. dont care for the wording on the other side (ejection) and a bead blaster might do the trick on that side.

My CS9D has potential. I broke some stuff on it before I got to shoot it, so waiting on parts. I am also buying a 3913 grip and plan to do a factory grip transition.

I have a dremel, sandpaper, files and very little sense Eeker and patience for the grip makeover. So my first attempt might not fair well, and may have to buy another grip.

anyway, look forward to hearing what dehorn job you got comin!

You might want to contact this fellow: AIVIA2001 on GunBroker---check out all the grips he makes for many different guns. They are made in Thailand and his prices are reasonable. I bet he could come up with something really fast, too. He has lots of happy customers, anyway... Website also: http://suncrafts.com/

Well, I contacted him and here's his quick reply: Hi,

Very sorry for these S&W Grips, the Rosewood grips can't be made that thin. The CS9
grips frame was nearly the same of the 3913 or 5906, 3rd. Gen S&W Auto. It quite
thick with many parts inside that make it difficult to cut and fit it by the wooden
grips. Try to stick with the factory rubber grips and always dry it with the talcum
that may help a little. Anyhow, thank you very much for your suggestion on making
these grips.

Have a Great & Safe Weekend,

R. Weston.

It's the factory's fault for making the CS models part of their econo-gun series, instead of integrating them into their premium line-up.

This CS45 was converted to DAO (no D models back then). The top of the slide was milled similar to a 1911, taking out the flats. I shortened the mags and used 4506 baseplates, so that my little finger could curl underneath. A 4506 grip was fitted and XS tritium sights.

This is how they should have left the factory right from the beginning. Front strap serrations would have been icing on the cake.

Let me know if these are OK, or if we need pics from closer up, because I took more photos.

Thanks Bob...great pics..very jealous of your CS9D...missed the chance of a black one a few years back...still kicking myself.....in answer to CQB 45 i am having the slide extensively rounded and the retraction grooves removed (ASP style) de-cock and slide release flattened and all re finished in flat black....now all i need is to sort the grip... will of course post some phots when it is complete...
