I,m sure it has been covered before, but please a few comments on this pistol as I have one on order.
I want the 9mm for lower cost of shooting. I'm teaching 3 grand daughters to shoot and want them to learn with the full size pistol. Have had them shooting .22's and now it is time to step up in caliber.
thnx, kalei

With the changeable backstraps, the M&P-9 might be an excellent choice for your grand daughters.
(Careful, they may like it so much, they may each want one of their own.)

I have one, and I really like it. The biggest problem is that it is so reliable that I don't clean it often enough. I think it's getting the 3000 round test. It's certainly over 1000.

I used it with reasonable success to get my wife somewhat willing to shoot a semi-auto. She was used to shooting a Registered Magnum with .38 specials. Talk about being spoiled big time.

And the changeable backstrap and nice ergonomics enabled me to get my stepson away from liking Glocks and onto S&W.

I was trying out a Glock 17C - compensated - and I couldn't really tell much difference in recoil. I think that the better ergonomics of the S&W make up for the reduced recoil of the 17C.
