I HAVE OWNED A 915, SIMILAR TO THE 5906,FOR 15 YEARS WITH NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. LAST YEAR I BOUGHT AN MP9 AND A MP9C. SINCE THEN THE 915 HAS BEEN COLLECTING DUST. ID NEVER LET IT GO BUT I THINK THE M&P LINE IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD.

I HAVE SHOT BOTH A LOT. THE M&P RECOILS LESS WITH THE IDENTICAL AMMO. SIDE BY SIDE YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE. JP

Wow! I would have thought just the opposite. I would think the extra weight of the 5906 would have made it's recoil a lot less. I love my 5906 and will never get rid of it. Looks like a M&P 9 will also join the stable. Thanks PPCSHOOTER.

I haven't shot mine side by side, but the bore centerline of the M&P is much lower than that of the 5906. As a result, the muzzle flip should be much less.
Many of our folks that used to be issued the 4006 claim the M&P40 has less recoil.
