It's been about two weeks since I purchased my first pistol, a 4006 " trooper turn in ". This afternoon I got off work early and went to the range. I have learned a lot from this forum about the gun, ammunition, magazines, hearing and vision protection so I was confident I knew what I was doing. All went well with zero issues. The gun shot well and the grouping for my first time out wasn't too bad. I shot 90 rounds with zero failures of any kind. I like the way this gun feels and the recoil wasn't bad at all firing 180gr. Georgia Arms ammo. I can see how this is going to be addictive but it's all good.

I love my 4006. I carry mine everyday as for my ccw. Kinda heavy but you get used to it.

Welcome to the club! I avoided the whole .40 mania thing for years, until I bought a package of guns at an auction and one of them was a NIB 4006. After deciding it would never be priceless with all the LE trade-ins on the market I took it to the range, and woohoo! is right...man is it a shooter. Recoil is not as bad as I thought it would be, and the little holes appear right where I am pointing. This may be blasphemy, but I like it so much I sold a couple of my .45's! Ammo is cheap, spare mags are readily available, and fun is had for all. AND, as BigAl said, it fits on your belt real nice. Enjoy.

Congrats on the new gun !
I bought a 4006 from CDNN about 2 years back..clean as new...and yeah..it's been a flawless gun. I don't shoot it as well as my 1911 and I don't think its as accurate as some other model 40 rigs, but it is a solid ground-up rig. I just unstrapped mine about 30 mins ago...we were out in the woods.. that's what I use it for...an outside carry piece for keeping me safe when I'm playing in my backyard...
