Yeah, they are available. I bought one about six months ago. Are available only through the CAMFOUR people so would have to be ordered from them. Is exactly as the specs say. Phenomenal pistol. Great trigger, fit and finish. Have no idea what the list price is but I paid right at $1000 for mine and feel it is the best 1911 I have ever had. Only thing I really don't care for is the exstended magwell which is easily removed. But that is just me.

Actually, $1k is pretty damned good for a Performance Center 1911. I paid somewhere around $980 for my Kimber Eclipse 10 and that is a regular production pistol. My father's Gold Medal Match was over $1k and would have been closer to $1200 if the dealer hadn't sold it to him for $25 over cost.

This is a Camfour Distributor gun. You will have to check with your dealer.

FWIW, what the specs don't mention is the really nice checkering on the metal main spring housing and the nice grooving of the front of the grip. I was surprised and very pleased when I got it.

Is it different from the checkering and grooves on all the other S&W 1911's?

I bought one in November. Have not got a chance to shoot it yet. I got the free holster & magazine pouch with the promotion and the dealer threw in 3 extra magazines to go with the 2 supplied. Price $899 + Tax. I think I got a great deal. I hope it shoots as good as it looks!

I didn't realize they only produced 100. My dealer had special ordered mine from Camfour and bought 3 more. Did Camfour tell you that it was a 100 gun run? If you don't mind, what did Camfour get for it?

Did you get a chance to shoot it yet. I would be interested in your opinions and functioning. I went to the range to shoot mine for the first time over the weekend and the range is closed for a week for renovation. Pretty disappointing.
Great looking Commander by the way!

I haven't shot it yet... been snowing and such. I'm growing a bit impatient waiting. I do think this is going to end up being my main carry weapon though!

First clear weekend and I'm heading out to the desert... no ranges for me! Big Grin

Last one back with a range report is a rotten egg! Eeker
