My new 1911 shoots AWESOME groups but they are 4-5" high. I called S&W and they don't have a taller front sight avalible so they are sending me a free front night sight that will have me shooting right on. Also the barrel bushing tool never came with my gun so he's sending me one too.

People like the guy I spoke with today are definatly why every gun I own except my AR is an S&W.

S&W customer service has always been erratic - but it is usually more good than bad. And they're not alone in the erratic department. Many big companies are "a lot more erratic" ( Big Grin ) than they are.

It's always nice to find someone who actually wants to be helpful.

Cant load ammo fast enough to keep the guns fed.
Old data is only old because it was printed before the laywers got out of hand.

I'm curious - How will a front night sight bring your groups down unless it's a taller sight??

It is a taller sight. Problem was they didn't have a non-night sight taller than whats on there now.

I'll admit I did talk to someone that didn't sound like they wanted to be there. SOOOOOO I hung up and called back. No biggy.

Good job nitrous. Are you gonna have a gunsmith install the new front sight? I think they are a bit tricky unless you know what you're doing.

my experience with S&W CS for my 1911 was so atrocious I sold the PC melonite I bought as well and then an S&W PC 627 and a 619. I am now down to an S&W Gunsite 1911 and an S&W PC .44 Mag Light Hunter. I have added a Wilson CQB Elite, and I am much happier.

I'll change it out myself. I've got a good vice and some brass punches I use.
