I've hear all kinds of good things about the 952. It's precusor, the 52 is a good bit cheaper. How do they compare?

The main thing I find is that the 952 is much easier to feed reliably. The 52s' are very picky about their ammo, and you never seem to have a feed problem till the rapid fire course.

My 52 will shoot much tighter than my 952, or so it seems. It may just be a case of finding the "magic bullet/load", but I haven't found it yet. The 52 will hold the X-ring of a B-8 at 25 yards, the 952 will hold the 10 ring. It's not just me, though; several co-workers have fired both, with the same general findings, if not group size. I've tried various 115, 124, and 147 loads from different mfgr., but have not found one yet that will do the trick.

I love my 952, it has the best trigger of any 9mm semi-auto. However, it's not quite as good a trigger as in the Model 52. My Model 52-1 has been totally reliable using 2.8 gr. Bullseye, Rem 1.5 primer, and Remington 148gr LHBWC seated flush with just a very slight roll crimp. You are limited to a five shot magazine with the Model 52's. I have not found that to be a problem with steel plate racks as you can load one in the chamber and 5 in the magazine.
