New member here from North Texas. Recently was looking for a home defense weapon and after many years of using my 870, or model 60 marlin, I got the bug to get a snubnose for a change. having only ruger handguns in the 1980's I remembered that S&W was perferred by most of my friends.
I went shopping for a ruger but thought I might find a "cheap Smith" (I know now that there is no such animal) Suprise!! I made the mistake of touching a 686 and price went bye-bye. Needless to say the 686+ (dreaded -6) stuck to my hand and since it's rarely out of my hand. I wish I had found this board sooner and done a little more research before buying...example... I saw the factory hodge grips and thought I would never want to change them and now after lurking and seeing the null grips on other members weapons...gotta have them! Finding a holster has been a bear but I think I got that mastered at this point with a Desantis owb. I've put 250 rounds through it and it is the best shooting little dragon I've ever touched. Don't mean to ramble, but at 25 feet I got an extreamly tight shot group. Anyway, it's a pleasure to be here.

Well, we'll not risk another frontal assault. That rabbit's dynamite.
