Need to find the 'value' in order to file insurance claim for theft of my S&W K-Frame revolver Model 66-1, 2 1/2 barrel, stainless steel, RR front siight, that I purchased in 1980. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I cannot locate anyone in my area that has knowledge for this item. Thanks! Don W. Thacker

Welcome to the Forum, Don!

I have that exact same revolver, but I'm not certain of its value so I'll let someone with more expertise answer your question.

Thanks for your quick reply. Had the weapon since 1980. Never would have thought it would get stolen out of my truck! When I reported it to PD was startled to have them tell me that I am the only person that had the serial # ! !!
Now that is scary. Have homeowner replacement policy but need a figure to replace THIS type of weapon. Again, thanks for your response.

Welcome from Texas Don. Great forum, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

First, sorry to hear of your loss.

Second, you can post this in the revolver section. Condition is important, but the usual value on this gun would be between $350.00 to $450.00.

Third, if you would please post or e-mail me the serial number, as property recovery is what I do.

An update concerning the weapon - - since it was purchased, there has onnly been 24 rounds fired, therefore, wouldn't that make it fairly "new condition"? Only used it to qualify for my AZ CCW permit.
