Just picked up a 64-6 for my wife to use as a "house gun". Nothing special, DAO, round frame, 4" barrel, frame mounted firing pin and the "cast into the frame" cylinder stop. Basicly.....everything I typically DON'T collect! LOL But the pistol was a deal and I have a soft spot for "un-loved" Smith wheelguns, so I jumped on it.
I gotta tell y'all....I was never a fan of fixed sights, but dang! This thing (with the bobbed hammer and fixed sights) is slicker than snot on a doorknob! Either a 2" or 3" tube in place of the 4" would make this thing a SUPER carry piece!
So......anyone have "the bible" handy and can look up a DOB? Ser # is CDA713x

Thanks all!

CDA is probably 1998. A call to S & W customer service can get you a more definitive ship-date.

2" and 3" versions were also produced. Here is my 2-incher.

They truly are excellent guns. I have two. Bought each one for $269 and they shoot great!

If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
