Although reading the SWSC Vol. 3 I found no information about the changing of the different types of barrels.

When did S&W change from tapered to heavy barrel on M 15?

Hi, i have buy this model 15 (unfired) in a gun shop one month ago

The frame is round butt, manifactured about jan 1998 (i check on S&W Standard Catalog 3rd)without safety lock...very accurate shooter

It's my first handgun... but i think was a good deal Smiler

Beauties....

I've always loved 15's. Have a -2 that I recently picked up that is equipped with football targets. I wondered about the barrel change myself. Glad that's now been answered Smiler

Good looking revolvers guys! I've always like the Model 15, both in 4-inch and 2-inch variations. A 4-inch Model 15 is a good candidate for an all-around gun and a 2-inch is the classiest snub of all.
