Thought I'd post a few pics of the 10-6 I asked about last month (took me over a month to be able to pick it up). Thanks for all the help in identifiying it, when I bought it, I really had no idea what I'd just purchased.
Interestingly the SN is D607964 which I think puts in in 1972/73 whereas the grips have the SN of D769,608 which is 1975/76. I'm guessing Smith swapped the grips out at the factory. Seems to shoot a touch low, but I'm very happy with it. Cost me $325 plus registration etc. Not bad for out here in Kalifornia. |

I dont have a heavy barrel model 10 yet, And if it was me seeing that one, I would have a HB model 10! I am sure that it will serve you well! Peter. Nice crowd here. |

Looks like some good honest holster wear on it. I think you have a fine shooting gun there.
A gun is a dangerous weapon, and if used properly can be a wonderful source of entertainment. |

That's a terrific find for Kalifornia! Finding a classic S&W revolver in this state is such a score. It could easily become a sweet obsession.

Very nice gun. The model 10-6 were made for the NYSP in 357 which eventually became the model 13. The model 13 was the next gun which was carried by the NYSP. My 10-6 was shipped to the NYSP in 1973. Congrats on a rare find with the correct box!!!
