I'm not a fan of RIMZ full moon clips. I have a good stock of steel full moons. If I want to shoot my 625 w/o clips I could do it
with .45 ACP but I keep a good stock of .45 Auto RIm in my inventory of ammunition. A range day will include a lot of .45 ACP and then I have 4 HKS 25M speedloaders for the .45
AUto RIm, and after that I can load the AR with
whatever is left over.

THe 1911 has no magazine disconnect and has a silly warning on the side of the frame stating the gun can be fired with magazine removed DUH

Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Dylan Thomas

Excuse me because I am a bit slow but what about 45 Auto Rim (45AR) cartridgees? I use them in my 625JM if I want to load one at a time.

As I said, I'm a bit slow because I just lost 40 minutes of my life that I'll never get back by listening to Fox News cover a political speech. Eeker

Yes the AR will work fine. But it has much more limited availability and is not available in as many factory loadings compared to the Auto. My point is that a defensive revolver should be able to use a defensive load with the clips for fast reloads (great advantage here) or without clips in the event that this should be necessary. I guess it's just a paranoia thing, but isn't that the case with most of us that carry a firearm in our relatively safe lives? A bent clip can completely tie up a gun so I would prefer to have the option of using loose rounds in a "live or die" situation. Otherwise I'll just stick with my .357s and speedloaders, although I would like the .45 for it's characteristics. When I first read about this gun in AH I thought that this would be my next revolver. Now that this issue has come up it completely takes it off the table for me so I'll continue looking for the pre-locks and I doubt S&W will ever get any of my money for a new gun again. Frowner
