how did s&w attach the red insert to patridge front sights? appears to be just glued on.

The red insert has a extension that fits into a recess in the blade. The top of the blade is then dimpled to retain it (there could be an adhesive too, but I‘m not pulling it apart)! At least that’s how mine is.

any suggestions on doing this installation? i shudder at the thought of using a dremel tool on the front sight.
