Well I just fired off my new 329 with 44 specials. I thought this would be a real handful, but was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to hold with the 'recoil-absorbing' grips that it comes with. Also, it was very very accurate for a 2 1/2" barrel. I should have taken some 44 mag ammo, but I didn't. Next time.

Glad you like it. Please post again when you shoot full house mags thru it though. Big Grin

Used Federal Hi-Power 200 grain semi-wadcutter hollow points. My buddy and I had a .380, .40, 9mm, 45 in OACP and this. Smallest pattern came from the 329 for both of us, even though he shoots his Glock 40 cal a LOT.

I keep preaching that the 329 is the best 44 Special ever built. Its not really all that light for shooting mild loads. I personally prefer the longer barrel guns, but short guns are easier to carry.

Want some fun? Got a tough guy in your circle of friends? Take them shooting. Load the cylinder with some 240s, then the last shot or 2 load it with some nice, hot 300s. Test fire it a few times to show how nasty it is, then hand it to them when they snicker at you. Make sure they get the 300 grainers, just for fun. Big Grin

Drive in one car. That way you can take the wounded to the ER.

I would like to use this as my Concealed Carry, but haven't been able to find a holster. IWB would be nice if I can find one. I think this would be the same size that the 629 fits, but not sure.

All N frames are essentially the same size. All Model 29s, regardless of what metal they are made of, are the same basic size.

For IWB holsters, I HIGHLY recommend K&D Holsters and Comp-Tac Holsters

I have a Comp-Tac CTAC IWB kydex holster to fit my 3" and 4" 29s and a K&D Eagle Defender leather OWB for my 3" Model 29.

Kevin (K&D) can also make you his IWB/OWB Thunderbird holster for a M29.

Went out again today and fired the 329 again, but this time with some 240 grain factory 44 magnum ammo. It definately is a handful. I had an older box of Norma 240 grain jacketed flat nose, and they almost seemed too 'hot'. Most of the primers were cratered and had 3 out of six stick in the cylinder after firing. Had to use a screwdriver to tap out the empties. That worries me. Any one with ideas why this would happen?

Some of the older Norma ammo has been reported to be very, very hot. Hot, as in exceeding SAMMI specs.
