I have never owned a revolver with this finish. Are there some advantages to having nickel vs blued in terms of cleaning or durability?

Is there some special care one needs to exercise with cleaning a nickel plated gun?

Just asking in case I decide on nickel for my next revolver.

Respect wildlife, use a good marinade.

I just got my second prelock Nickel S&W Smiler

I only use solvent in the bore and internal parts.
Soft cloths and gun oil for nooks and crannies.

Remember - ANY abrasive will wear away nickel at
least a bit.

A light coat of paste wax on most of the outside
to seal any chips or pinholes.

" Smith & Wesson has to sell guns in all 50 states.. .. As long as we sell revolvers there will be a lock on them...."

AND I WON'T BUY THEM.
