In deference to my earlier post, I did sell a firearm to Fugate Firearms. Now that I think of it, I was contacted by private email. He must have picked me up from the classifieds. Had I known that he was a banned member, I would have sold to someone else to protect the integrity of this forum. Thanks to all the moderators and special gents who make this a great place to visit. Our "family" can only flourish if we police ourselves.

Wanted to add my 2 cents...I have purchased a couple of S & W revolvers from Fugate in the past...no problems and nothing special about the revolvers. Was not aware of the issues brought up in the forum at the time so you all can jump me later! Earlier today I was bidding on a S & W 38/44 heavy duty on Gunbroker...price was high as they always are but condition was great and it was with the box and tools so what the heck. To make a long story short I ended up being out bid at the very end of the auction by "lastbidder" aka Fugate Firearms. I realize that the system is open and anyone can bid whatever they would like as long as they can afford it but it did piss me off just a bit since I was a PREVIOUS customer and we all know the same revolver is going to be re-listed in another week or so at a much higher price! I can honestly say I have bought and sold many guns in my day but profit was never the motivation...I always did it for the want of something else or a change in taste. Guess I should stick to my real job. I do feel better that I played the bidding game for an hour or so and drove the price up a few hundred bucks so it did cost him more money and should make the seller happy. Thanks for letting me rant.

The Busier Forum!

John Fugate is apparently asking for quarter. He sent an email to a forum member last night, which was then forwarded to me. I don't have a copy of that email on the PC I'm on right now, but essentially, in it he pledges to stay away from the Classifieds section of the forum and asks for a "truce". I'll have more to say about this later today, but let's just say that although I believe he wants a "truce" since he's getting pounded, I have a very hard time believing that he and his brother will now simply vanish from here like smoke. Regardless of whatever decision I may come to on this in the next couple of days, I am going to take this opportunity to remind John and his brother that I told them this would happen. From my initial public remarks on this matter: quote: I think John is going to find out that his little email campaign was the worst decision he made in his persistent efforts here.
And it didn't take long, did it, John and Matt? If anyone is sceptical of my claim about this email that was sent, it can be published here in the forum. If the member to whom itr was sent wants to step foreward and confirm my remarks, please feel free to do so.

parabellum - I think this quote from Galaxy Quest is appropriate for this situation:
"Never give up, never surrender!"
As soon as you ease up, he'll just come back stronger - just like roaches...

I say let him post once more with the Public Apology he owes us all. Then FINISH HIM OFF. Live by the Sword? Die by the Sword. Ought to be quite the Crash-and-Burn Fire Sale when Lastbidder get to hie Lastdollar.

From the examples in this thread of guns that he has bought and immediately re-listed, not only is he inflating the prices, but the condition, as well. He buys a gun listed as LNIB, pumps up the price by $500 or so, and advertises it as NIB. Nice jackass. Thanks to everyone for the hard work in trying to eliminate this dishonest, blood-sucking parasite from the Forum. P.S. to parabellum.... For what it's worth, my sentiment is to permanently ban him - there's gotta be a way......

First, let me state I do not know these guys and I have never delt with them. But I buy and resell guns to fund the purchase of other guns on a regular basis and I don't see anything wrong with snapping up a deal and immediately reselling same. In fact, recently, I snapped up a new in black pouch Ogden/Belgium Browning Highpower for $400.00, within a week traded it for P-38 and $200 cash, snapped up a Mauser 1934 a few days after that, then sold them both at a gunshow and went home with a K22 Masterpiece and $400.00 in my pocket.
Net gain: (1) 95% in box with papers 17-2 K22 Masterpiece and $200 profit (which I have since applied to a 1905 M&P which I'm waiting for the letter on... to resell so I can start the capital building again towards a pre-war 357...
Now, that being said, the other comments concerning misrepresentation, spamming and questionable ethical practices do concern me. My job requires I travel quite abit here in Tennessee and Kentucky and these guys "were" on my list of places to visit and people to meet. Had the only issue been profiteering, I haven't an issue with that personally, as we are in a free market economy (and I was an FFL holder for over 10 years to fund my gun-nuttiness, until the price went up...), but when it comes to ethical treatment of customers and true and accurate representation of product -- that I have an issue with.
