Giz may no longer be a part of this forum, but I still have to thank him for this one. He found this one having just arrived at a local fishin' hole. Sold to me as NIB. I think it may have been fired as it appears so from all 6 chambers, and there is a turn line. No matter though, I've never seen one in this nice a shape. This one will get shot...a lot! BTW, it's a 57 no dash from 1980-1981. It even still has the inspection sticker (#38) on the inside as you can see, but on the outside of the presentation case too.

As an aside, when I went back to retrieve this beauty I was going to put an unfired Liberty edition Ruger Blackhawk (.45 Colt 4/58") on lay-a-way. Giz had beaten me to it buy about 15 minutes. Yup, that's him.

Photobucket

Sorry for the fingerprints on the frame. Forgot to wipe them off before the photo.

You have a beutiful, classic gun. Love the 4 inch N frame. May I ask why Giz is no longer a member of the forum? What did I miss? Thanks Jim

Gizamo ran off at the mouth and got banned by The Man, The Kahuna, The Big Dog in Charge, The Screamin' Eagle himself...Gizamo had every bit of it coming and no one to blame but himself!

Let's not turn this into a "what happened to Gizamo thread." If you care to, do an advance search in the Lounge and decide for yourselves. Despite what happened here, I shoot and collect guns with Giz and Sebago Son. They both have forgotten more about S&W's (and Rugers) than I will ever know, and both would give you the shirt off their own backs. The point of my thread is that what we Mainers do for each other. Steve and Drew knew a 4" 57 no dash was a grail gun of sorts for me. One came in and Steve called me on it. Nuff said.

Giz did step over the line --- but he was/is a good guy and very knowledgeable. I hope that he and Para can someday kiss-and-make-up, I would welcome him back.

Cushrmg,
Beautiful 57, and congrats on acquiring one!

Another .41 fan here...I've got a 4" 57 from 1979-80. Took me quite some time to locate one, and lucked into one in excellent shape.

Good going, and enjoy Cool

My apologies, I did not mean to open a cam o worms so to speak, I am unable to follow the forum on a day to day basis so I was unaware of the issue. Again my apologies. I would hope that eventually all will be forgiven.
regards,
Ralph

Hey Ralph, no worries. Giz dug his own grave and is well aware of that. You didn't open any can of worms at all. Smiler
