Very nice story and photo. Pity I saw the nice bright gloss just as the satin finish of my newly acquired '55 K-38 seemed to have grown upon me. Hmmm...

I'm the lucky one. My father (and mother) gave me everything to succeed in life, and all he asked of me in return was to make something of myself. I'm sitting here in an office working (and reading the forum) 8 to 5 as an electrical engineer getting paid too much while he still gets up at 4:30am to work outside in the elements for probably the same amount. If I turn out to be half the man my father is, I will consider my life a success. I never meant for this to turn into a life story, but it's always good to step back and take it all in every now and then. And to think some people say guns are bad things.

P.S. I thank everyone for the kind words.

The story is great, the gun magnificent and your parents a very lucky couple with a son that thinks of them as you do.

Congratulations

Very nice Jeremy, it shows tons of class.

Speaking from a 45 year old policeman who is the father of a 25 year old engineer, I can tell you that I know how proud of you he is.

Being honored by your son is one of the greatest joys a man can have in this life. You certainly pulled it off in spades here.

What would top it off would be the name of the guy that he got it from, and check the news paper for anything on the guy. Don't know you could come up with a picture of the guy and revolver. That would be "HISTORY". You need to take a PIC of your Dad with it, and the three of you together. Later John

Jeremy, Awesome post! I'm glad you shared your sentiments with us. It reminds me of times past with my Dad, who got me started in my appreciation of the shooting and collecting hobbies. Thank you, Jeremy. Greg
