Bought this Model 10-8 a while ago. Former police gun, most of the finish was gone. Guy I got it from had it redone, smooth phosphate finish. Did a nice trigger job on it, threw some grips on there I got from a police impound gun that was going to be cut up. Had this old Jay Pee duty rig laying around too. They just seemed to belong together. Took her out to the range last week, one jagged hole at 15 and 25. That first pic bring back memories for anyone?

One fine lookin' gun & rig! That's about all a guy would need for self-defense.
"threw some grips on there I got from a police impound gun that was going to be cut up." Do.. do... they cut up grips like that often!?! |

Let me put it like this. I may or may not have seen a DWM Imperial Luger made in 1918, in mint condition, be cut up. I can neither confirm nor deny this to my grave.
Seriously, all the time. Buckets full of parts that are take offs are in the armory (found a six inch nickel model 1905 barrel the other day in 38 spl and a brand new model 29 blued barrel). That big fat trigger pad that's on that gun came off a trigger removed from a different doomed gun. “Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it.- Mark Twain" |

Hadn't seen a phosphated finish before. Looks better than parkerized IMO and looks like an excellent choice for a "working gun". Don

Phosphate IS Parkerizing. There are several variants to phosphatizing, Manganese and others, but all fit the definition of "Parkerizing". |

Good looking Model 10 HB. I like the total rig a lot, and thanks for the pics.

Great looking model 10. Those targets look really good on it too. That is also a really cool looking rig as well.

Excellent job Dave. Very classy yet functional way to put the old girl back in play. Great rig! PEN

I have seen the unmentionable in real life...it is a sad and disturbing sight to watch fine American-made firearms slide down the ramp of doom into the crusher, only then to be incinerated to dust... |

Thanks for the kind words- a few more for the road here. How about a side by side of my rigs, with a side by side of my duty weapons. That's a 4506-1 hiding behind the Model 10.
