I know how you feel. Darn thread pushed me over the edge and I picked these up yesterday. Was really only planning to bring home the model 1926 3rd. but you know how it is.

The wife keeps telling me one day I'll buy my own murder weapon.

Salt & Pepper Pre-27's. It doesn't show on the blue gun, but both have the round pins for the front sight. Can't remember exactly, but I have had the nickel gun since 1980 or the very early 80's. A guy robbed me at $250, but I had never seen another nickel 5" PRE.
NOOOO, the trigger on the nickel gun is NOT nickeled, but rather one I polished smooth, which is my preference for shooting. I have shot it quite a bit.

Next up is a Mod 27 NO dash 4 screw. The gun was just inventory, till I really played with it one day, checking the action. It is one of those 1 in a thousand type actions- incredibly smooth AND perfectly timed AND tight. Trust me here- I AM qualified to judge.....Hard to sell one like that, and my youngest will graduate college next year with honors... Wink

Scratched-up 5 screw with ivory.

All that's left is PRE-Pre-27's. Big Grin

Lee Jarrett

I just lucked into a new to me 5" Mod 27-2, in a mahogany box, with the tools and papers. Fella had it in the classified section here, so it comes home with me on Monday. This one isn't going to be sold.

A little late, but here's my 27-3. I replaced the grips with Hogues that have the S&W emblem and put on a smooth trigger. Nice shooter.
