How about a very gentle refinish of the sideplate (only) by a master, like Gene Williams? It wouldn't touch the emblem...might be worth looking into. What do the pros here think?

Only try very gentle things, like a very light rubbing with simichrome, or just trying to hide it with wax.
NO to any refinishing. They are what they are. Go ahead and use it, and as gentle, honest wear appears, it won't look so bad. Wink

Ah yes the "classic Skeeter Skelton revolver"
If it were not for my arthritis I would save up to purchase one in honor of Skeeter.

Yours is only the second one that I've ever seen. This is the other. How many have you seen since you bought yours?

Only yours has appeared before my eyes since I bought that one in the 80's, as far as I can recall!
WOW- that one of yours is gorgeous. Definitely above mine in condition. Is the box numbered to it?
You really should be more careful- SC is close enough for me to find you..... Big Grin
