Just a quick note on some auction results from today
Among the 30 some guns I bought today, mostly for resale were a couple of keepers I got an early, post war 38 M&P, with a 2" bbl, original grips and appears unfired it is C26xxx, blue is 100%. It cost me $275. As I was exploring through the box lots I spotted a gold box among the other boox of boxes and the box numbered to the gun I bought. I paid $66 for all the boxes. So it put me in the gun w both and cleaning kit for $341 I also got a 100% Model 1905 in the original maroon hinged box with paperwork for $495, it is 558xxx. Then in one of the last box lots containing grips like Hogues and Pachmayrs and other various grips, was a gorgeous set of pre war magnas. Unfortunately, someone else may have realized what they were and I had to pay $440 for the lot. I hope to sell some grips and recoup my investment. I wonder what happened to the gun they belonged to. The sn on the grips is 47135 It's been a long day and it's time to turn in This message has been edited. I bought that Colt New Service .455 Eley for $200. We shoulda met. That S&W 1917 with pouches and (wrong) holster was a real shame with the rust. Nice grips on it though. That 3in Mod.66 I was hoping for went way too high at over $600. Shoulda grabbed some of those Mod.19s that went early for approx.$300ea.

That was a nice deal on the 455, I agree that the 66 went way too high. I was happy with the stuff I got, now I have about 20 plus guns that I will sell

Those grips are on their way to Kansas today by Priority Mail. I found the owner of the gun that they numbered to and he was thrilled to get them. I was bidding on the 455 and the boxed pre 27 but I thought that they went too high, especially the 455 in the condition it was in and that it had the wrong grips. Is it still in 455 or was it converted? This message has been edited. Last edited by: m-1911, Gary S&WCA 1837 S&WHF 225 "The field mouse runs fast, but the owl can see at night" |

may be they where to much for you, where are you going to find a pre model 27 with a numbered gold box with the tool kit? just about all 455 have been converted to 45acp, so to find a real one isn't easy. IMHO...
PS last time i looked there not making anymore of them. NRA Life Member OGCA Member S&WCA Member #2143 S&WHF Member #216 Sometimes you have to pull your pants down and slide on the ice (Sidney Fredman M*A*S*H) |
