Can you tell me what was included in a pre Mod 17 (K 110,000 ser # range) box?
Probably a blued steel knurled-handeled screwdriver and a cleaning rod. Was it made of aluminum or brass? I don't believe instruction manuals were included yet. And what kind of "vapor paper" if any, was inside? Thanks for your help. GF |

Post war rods are blue steel for the very earliest guns, shaped just like the aluminum. Forget brass- "ain't none". Your gun most likely had aluminum with a swab and brush that had brass threads.
Prob blue knurled screwdriver. Brown tissue to wrap the tools. Helpful Hints pamphlet, post war variety. NO Instruction sheet. VPI would be heavy, likely have S&W logo's, but might be generic. Serial number written on one end of BOTTOM of box as: K 110000 Regards, Lee Jarrett SWCA Life Member #418 SWHF Founding Member #118 A NEW List is on my website at: noconeetrader.com |

Don't listen to Lee, he's been napping again. The earliest K22s had nickel plated screwdrivers and those transitioned to blue steel a little later.
