Looking for a rig for the BBQ gun today I found this on a table it was labeled for a 4-1/2" Colt but this Holster was made for a Smith. Anyone ever hear of Stelzig? I googled and found a little info. They started buisness in Houston in 1870's and went out of buisness in 2004. The Rig is calfskin lined and is solidly built with great quality.

I have a Stelzig floral carved holster for a slim barrel .22 auto pistol (maybe an old Hi-Standard or Woodsman).
Nice looking outfit you got there. "all posts now ISO9001 certified" |

Great holster Dan. The ones of that maker I have seen over the years have all been very high quality.

thanks Guys,
It seemed appropriate that the gun go into a Texas made Holster. now To find a belt to match. Dan |

Stelzig was in Houston for a long time. I am not sure if they are still in business. They made saddles as well as holsters and other leather gear. They made a lot of police rigs for the Housston Police Dept. I once had a black flap police holster that fit a 4" N frame. I picked it up at a yard sale from a retired Houston cop. Their stuff was high quality.

Apparently they are still in business. I found this listing with a Google search:
Stelzig Saddlery Company, Inc. 3123 Post Oak Boulevard Houston, TX 77056 Phone: 281-629-7779 They are supposed to have a store in the Houston Airport also. |

Ive read more Google searches than I care to discuss. The Old Stelzig Saddlery Co. went out of buisness in 2004. Then reopened a store in 2006 at the Houston Airport selling just Western Aparrel, Clothing boots and such. They are actually called Stelzig Ranch now

A few years ago while in Houston I picked up a well made cartridge belt slide that holds six rounds of 44 Special made by Stelzig. I have no idea of its age but its in excellent condition and I still use it.
