Can anyone tell me if the Colt Army or Official Police ever came with a 2" barrel.

It did, and so did some of the WW II version, the Commando.

But one very seldom sees one.

Big frame for a snub gun. Not too popular, I guess.

And, a few afficianados had them cut down to snubbie length, as evidenced by mentions in writings of the 50s-60s (e.g., Chic Gaylord's book).

Thanks for your replies, I came across one, and was not sure if it's factory. There are no Colt markings on the barrel, which makes me think the barrel is not original to the revolver.

I believe your assumption is probably correct. If the roll marks are absent from the barrel, it probably has been cut from a longer one and had the marking polished off. Generally when cut down to 2 inches, it went right through the rollmarks. A genuinely original 2 inch barrel would have the caliber roll mark properly positioned like this.
