just picked up an interesting old S&W - one of the 'Lemon Squeezers' in .32 S&W.
The nickel finish does not appear to be orig. - it's a pretty good refinish, but there are a few pits under it, the lettering is slightly 'faded' and the corners are slightly rounded. S/N in the 133XXX range. The barrel is slightly bulged about midway - not terrible, but present. It does seem to lock up tight, and the grips appear to be real mother of pearl. So my questions are: 1. What model is it? 2nd, or later? 2. About when was it made? 3. Is it safe to shoot with the bulge? 4. Approximate value? 5. What are other good on-line sources for info on these? Thanks! *********** GeorgiaCarry.org Member |

Apologies for not having any info for you but I thought I'd comment on how good I think your pistol looks, especially the pearls.
Cheers! |

Hello Ar-Trvlr,
It is a 2nd model Safety Hammerless. My best guess is that it was made between 1900 and 1903. Without a factory letter ( which is unavailable for a month or so ) it is difficult to pin point it any closer than that. You should be able to shoot it with the bulge, but I would have a gunsmith look it over to check that and any other problems it might have. I would say it is worth no more than $100, probably less, in the condition that it is in. I know of no other good on line sources other than this one availableto to you. I would certainly like to about any if there are. |

I agree with cflier about value. The genuine mother of pearl grips are very nice, but they are aftermarket replacements. As for the bulge, I've seen plenty of guns with bulges that still shot just fine.
