I realize that it has no collector value, from the looks of it the all the marks have been covered except the S&W trademark and stuff, but I made the guy an offer today. I will use it to shoot and have fun with, I will let everyone know how it turns out.

Stan, This is SSK Industries correct? What do they charge these days.... I have a rough and tumble Model 36 that I was considering this for.... it's pretty far gone in the finish department now as it is... Drew

You just can't go wrong with an S&W. If Metallife is akin to hard chrome, that would be a plus on a using gun. Hard chrome makes the steel harder, corrosion resitant and more slick. I think you have a winner. Bill
