A lot of nice and interesting top breaks. Thanks to all for posting. Here is one of my mine, a 2nd Model American.
SN 22XXX, born circa 1877
The holster, gun belt and beaded sheath date about 30 years or so later.

Here's one you don't see every day, a neat .38 SA 2nd Model with a 8" barrel.

That 8" SA .38 is something else. I never find and antique smiths at garage sales, let alone beauties like that for 50 cents? Here is another .44 DA Frontier circa 1887.

Its not a real high finish example, but the grips retain the patent line.

BRush--

Love your photos. Do you by any chance know the tribal origin of the beaded scabbard?

Mark,

Thank you for your kind words. I don't have a definitive answer on the beaded scabbard. The person I bought it from thought it was made by a a plains tribe sometime between the 1920's and 1940's. I'm not an expert, but the condition appears to support creation within this time period..

My one and only top-break: A 2nd Model Civilian Schofield built in 1877. It was passed down through the previous owner's family for over 100 years, then sold to me in 2006.

DC7,

Very nice indeed. Its very hard to find one of the relatively rare 2nd Model civilians in any condition, let alone in such nice condition as yours. Thanks for sharing.
