I live in NY. I have a C&R and a NYS dealers License. The State dealers Lic was required for me to purchase C&R handguns in NY. There was no problem getting dealers Lic however it does restrict me C&R handguns only.

> I have seen a couple of C&R's with a NYS Dealers lic. over the years. Chalk that up to the system that leaves it up to the individual County Clerks to issue the licenses and not the NYSP. Everybody reads the regs a bit different I guess, but it clearly states 'engage in business as a dealer (or gunsmith)' and 'list business name' etc. Mine and the surrounding countys that I know of demand a copy of your 01 FFL with the application/renewal. Been that way since I can remember and I'll be passing year #40 of my FFL & State lic. next renewal. (still takes 6 months to renew the State Dealers License!!...every 3 years too.. )

Do you have a 01 FFL? An 03 FFL is for collecting only, correct? I'm confused here, how could you get a dealers license with a 03 FFL?
