Disney World would probably have the highest security. You probably can't even carry a plastic picnic knife!!!! Eeker

With all the kids there.....it would be a major target for terrorism. But, if they hurt our kids.......they WILL instantly meet Allah!!! The Muslims would be annihilalated. Eeker Bob Wink

Americans will forget what happened in five minutes.

Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.

I was there last summer. There are purse and backpack checks at all the entry points. Nobody was getting wanded, and there were no metal detectors then. Basically, a persons pockets and what was beneath clothing were undectable.

Disney security is amazing as it is totally transparent. You simply cannot pick out the security people without looking for their earpiece. They absolutely, totally blend in.

That said, Florida Law does not allow concealed firearms anywhere on Disney Property even for permit holders. I cannot cite that for you, but I'm sure that's the case.

"We conclude that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms. That right existed prior to the formation of the new government under the Constitution and was premised on the private use of arms for activities such as hunting and self-defense, the latter being understood as resistance to either private lawlessness or the depredations of a tyrannical government." - U.S. Court of Appeals, D.C. Circuit, March 9, 2007

"...what is not debatable is that it is not the role of this Court to pronounce the Second Amendment extinct. We affirm the judgment of the Court of Appeals. It is so ordered."

Incorrect.

Neither Walt Disney World, nor any other amusement park, gets special dispensation from the Florida legislature.

While WDW can, and does, prohibit firearms from its private property, all you can get if caught is a trespass charge IF you refuse to leave or argue about it.

If caught, comply immediately with their request to leave. Do not argue. Just consider your vacation shot because you will most likely be barred from re-admittance. But you will walk without legal consequence.

Florida Statutes 790.06(12):
No license issued pursuant to this section shall authorize any person to carry a concealed weapon or firearm into any place of nuisance as defined in s. 823.05; any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station; any detention facility, prison, or jail; any courthouse; any courtroom, except that nothing in this section would preclude a judge from carrying a concealed weapon or determining who will carry a concealed weapon in his or her courtroom; any polling place; any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district; any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof; any school, college, or professional athletic event not related to firearms; any school administration building; any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose; any elementary or secondary school facility; any career center; any college or university facility unless the licensee is a registered student, employee, or faculty member of such college or university and the weapon is a stun gun or nonlethal electric weapon or device designed solely for defensive purposes and the weapon does not fire a dart or projectile; inside the passenger terminal and sterile area of any airport, provided that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is encased for shipment for purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfully transported on any aircraft; or any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by federal law. Any person who willfully violates any provision of this subsection commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

In fact, I just read through the entire chapter 790 of the Florida Statues and there is nothing in there to validate your claim that WDW is somehow a place enumerated under state law as a place where the carrying of concealed weapons is prohibited.

The rest of the country does not work like Massachussetts.

Teacher: Johnny, what did you do on your summer vacation?

Johnny: I went to Disneyland.

Teacher: Was it fun?

Johnny: We didn't go in.

Teacher: Why not Johnny?

Johnny: My dad had a gun on him and started arguing with Mickey and before we knew it, me, him and my mom were out in the parking lot.

Teacher: Don't worry Johnny...Disney World is ridiculously expensive and that coporate rat is way too commercial...your dad did the right thing...if you want to make him feel better, tell him that by not going in, he saved enough money to buy a nice j-frame. Like this one in my purse...

Johnny: Cool...I'll tell him Mrs. Appletree. You are the best teacher ever.

Teacher: I know Johnny....I know.

ON nranews.com Cam & Company (radio/internet)talk show covered a story about a married couple that were fired from Disney World because they found out that the couple kept a firearm in the locked trunk of their car. Both husband and wife had their Florida CCW permits.
They were even told by the police dept. to get their permits becaused the rout they took to work passed through some very rough neighborhoods. They were fired, but another employee was put on "probation" at Disney after being arrested for allegedly molesting a child!!
WTF!!!!
Go figure.

Food for thought, they have had multiple felony type crimes committed in Disney's " secure " parking lots.

I have to work in Orlando several times a year, and when I do I book the room at one of the Disney resorts for the family and I. As posted earlier, it would be very easy to bring a firearm into the park so long as it was concealed on your person.

As for myself, I'm more worried about my piece falling out of my pocket on rides the likes of Space Mountain than I am about needing it on Disney property so mine stays in the room. Wink

I will be taking my daughter to WDW this winter and you can bet I will be packing 100% of the time.

If I have to buy a smartcarry and hang a j frame in front of my nuts, so be it.

F WDW and all other corporations like that.

BTW, WDW can't screw employees like that any more since Florida's recent passage of a law that prohibits employers from banning firearms in employee vehicles even when parked on company property.

We need that law here in OH badly.

Thunderwear or something like that might be good to get the gun in the park. A fanny pack might be the best way to carry once you're past security. In a touristy place like that, a fanny pack wouldn't scream "gun".

Living in WDW's back yard I can assure you their security is intense. I have never felt a need to carry in any of the Orlando area parks and have never even heard of an incident where carry would have been needed. The closest I recall was recently where two women got in a shoving match at the teacup ride. Eeker In fact, a carry gun would be a PITA with the wet rides, cooling misters and heat. I sure wouldn't subject any of my guns to it.

The parking lots, while on park property, are outside the gates and I have never heard of a guest's car being searched. The lots are also well covered by security.
