I am seriously considering my Model 625 for concealed carry, and as I am like the tea pot (short - 5'5", and stout 175 lbs) with no torso, I am considering a shoulder holster for carry. What brands and/or types should I look at? Any advice or ideas are greatly appreciated.

I carried a 6 1/2" Model 29 in a Bianchi X-15 shoulder rig for many years, never had a problem being "made," and it was the most comfortable way to carry a heavy N-frame (belt holsters tend to pull pants down when carrying one, and you get to feeling lopsided). I found it distributed the weight quite well. I am 6/2", so I don't know how well it will work for you, but a shorter (4" or so) barrel should work pretty well.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and help. My 625 has a 4" barrel and is my "geriatric" gun (fiber optic front sight, 2 dot rear, Crimson Trace grips.) It points well for me at close range, and the .45ACP rounds in full moon clips are easy for arthritic hands to handle.

You guys that carry Bianchi X-15 holsters...
I have a question. What is an X-15 CONDOR holster? I bought one off the web for my 4 1/2 inch Glock and when it arrived, marked CONDOR you could put an 8 3/8 "N" frame in it. I HAVE $56.00 in it. |
