I need an "N" frame S&W holster for my 3 inch 657. I would love one similar to Bianchi's #5 but, they don't make it. I want it for CCW.

Just got my Galco Silhouette from S&W yesterday for my 329PD, 627 & 629MG. Fits nice, can't beat it for the price, IMHO.

The Galco Silhouette holster sounds interesting but, can you show me a picture. Do they have one for my big "N" Frame S&W? Is there a web site for Galco so I can see what else they have?

Devilfrog 1911. I have the same Mernickle holster for my 629,625, 22-4 only it fits on the port side. This is a great holster and wear it whenever applicable.

I use an El Paso Saddelry #77 Tortilla for a 4 inch N-frame. Very comfortable and conceals well, even under an un-tucked T shirt.

Madison,
My 329PD, 627 and 629MG are all "N" frame guns and all fit the holster as it has an open bottom. They have 4", 5" and 4" barrels. Galco's website is "www.usgalco.com". Mernickle makes extremely nice holsters, but you'll have to wait weeks for one, which is why I went with a mass produced holster, if such a thing, this time. You really can't go wrong with any of the custom holsters. |

Hey there.
I carry my 4" 629 .44 MAGNUM almost daily in a Galco Hi-Ride. It too has the "open bottom" (which took me awhile to get used to looking at) and is ULTRA comfortable for long days spent packing heat. I'm finding the butt of my snubbie 3" N-frame is leaning outward (I use the heavier combat grips). Do the holsters recommended above keep the butt TIGHT against the side for concealed carry (not field use)?
Concealment is utmost concern for me so what would you recommend for the two ways of carry (trial and error gets expensive so appreciate your first-hand experienced recommendations)? 1. OWB (ideally with easy on/off snaps) 2. IWB (ideally with easy on/off snaps) |

With a short 3" barrel, wouldn't a lower riding rig be better than a higher one like the cabo? With the cylinder on top of the belt, doesn't seem like it would be as stable. I don't know, just inquiring.

I don't know. I don't have a Cabo, but they sure do look like a good idea. Maybe you should call Mr. Raab. I know he sells them, but most people in the holster business are usually shooters who got fed up with not finding a holster that suits them so they designed and made their own. The CABO is a great IWB holster. The 3" barrel works as well as the 4". The only revolver I've had that was "iffy" was the 625-10 with the 2" (as I recall) barrel.
I have CABO holster for k and n frames. They are great. Dave |
