My 3" round butt 65 is my "one gun" gun. Packs nicely IWB and is easy to control those .357's. The 4" is a bit to big for COMFORTABLE concealment. That is my gun of choice when in and out of the forest on vacation. Gives you the 38/357 option and I never have to worry about the sights being knocked out of alignment like a 66. IMO it' the best gun smith has ever made. The M60 2" chief is right up there also, but does not handle the 357's.

I carry a 4" Dan Wesson (same size as a K frame) every day...never a problem with sitting in chairs or imprinting. I use an IWB hoslter from De Santes.
I have a 4" 686 on the way with a DeSantes IWB just like the kFrame...a little wider and heavier, so we'll see how that goes.

The K Frame conceals much better than any auto that I have tried (down to baby Glock). Obviously a Keltec would conceal well ,but I want to kill quickly and rudely anything I shoot at.

I have a 4" 66-2 RB and a 3" 60-10. The length of the barrel isn't the issue with carry. The thickness of the cylinder and the weight make the difference. They are both great guns, but the 66 requires more holster and a better belt.

I'm lucky enough to have the best of both worlds - a 3" 66. I really don't care too much for the 60, but if you can find a 3" or 2.5" K frame, you've got a fine piece. The 2.5" 686 is great, too.

thanks for the help!

4 inch IWB is going to be a pain if you are used to the size of a Model 36 as indicated.I carry a 2 inch snub daily IWB but if I carry my 4 inch I carry on the belt with in a Bianch #7 shadow with a jacket over it

Dunno about you all, but I think of my nuts...the four inch barrel is just long enough to be a nutcracker when the gun is carried in the appendix position. I can do it, but I have to be careful. Even the 3.5" barrel makes a difference.

Consider a shoulder holster. I hope you don't pass up that Mod 66.

I only carry 3" IWB never a 4"...Doesn't seem like much of a difference but it is very noticeable IWB. Now, OWB is a completely different story.

I am carrying a 4" sitting in a n ez chair right now...It may depend on your body size, but I have never had a problem with mine. Its roughly the same size as a commander length 1911 with a much lower profile.

If I could get a CCW here in Kalifornica's great central valley I'd go for a 6" 1911 converted to 460 Rowan. Mmmmmmmmm!! Lots of intimidation factor and lots of THUMP to back it up!!

Ultimately, it is the fate of every civilized man to know with(in) himself he can pretend bravery, and most likely, never have it truely called to test. Between a man and a (Cape) buffalo, there is no pretense.
