One of the problems is that no one ever sues these people after they are arrested and they win their case... What needs to happen in a case like this is that once someone is arrested and the the law found to be unconstitional not just sue civially but file a Civil Rights Violation with the Feds....and have the good mayor arrested and brought to trial...

All we would need is one mayor arrested and jailed and then no other politico would want to chance it. Nor would City Government want to foot the legal bills...

In NH if a Chief LEO or City Council wrongfully denies a CC permit and the applicant wins his appeal in court the City has to pick up the bill for his expenses...keeps the wrongful denials to a minimum...

Bob

He said it several years ago. To my knowledge, he is very pro-gun, pro-self defense.

‘‘Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? ... If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?’’
— Patrick Henry
‘‘The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose.’’
— James Earl Jones, Actor.

these politicos will continue to try and force their agenda and religion upon law abiding. Do that enough and you get a tea party.
Folks will simply start doing what they know is right and sensible, rather than what is "legal".

...Hey, let's not forget to add Mayor Shirley Franklin of Atlanta to that group. She is not above enacting law of her own. She's about to lose in court again.

Seattle probably won't have to put up with him after his current term is up. I've heard the people of Seattle are a little P.O.'d at him over losing the Sonics to Oklahoma City. I guess a politician can take away guns, but not a basketball team...

Yeah, 2000Z, that shows you where American's priorities are. Roll Eyes ...and no, the rolleyes aren't for you. You hit the nail on the head.

Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.

I'm afraid (sadly) your both more correct than I'd like to admit!
I'm reminded of the Peter Finch rant scene from "Network". "Just leave us alone with our color TV's and radial tires, etc., etc."
