Applied for my Weapons Permit renewal on 22 Jan. I called today to check on it, and was told that it was issued on 26 March but it will take another 10 to 14 days to be printed and mailed. The bottom line is that it is taking right at 3 months for the process. If yours is comming up; act accordingly.

I submitted my Tennessee renewal late last year and received my new card in about two weeks.

Some of the members on TGO said their time has varied anywhere from 1 week to 3 months. Probably just depends on the luck of the draw.

Great, you now have a permit to exercise your Constitutional right. Funny how you don't have to produce a State issued id to vote, nor take an eight hr course - voting is NOT a Constitutional right, but have to have a State permit and training to carry a firearm which the Constitution protects.

As a TN CCW PERMIT holder, you actually have more places that you can carry out of state than in State. See,our elected whores think that you cannot be trusted in restaurants that serve alcohol for on site consumption in TN. BUT as soon as you cross the border to other States your murderous urges disappear.

Hopefully you will join, if you are not a member already, the TFA - Tennessee Firearm Association. The whores that are running TN politics keep shafting the CCW holders and the only way laws are going to change is to throw them out or scare them with the thought that the are going to lose the next election.

With the exception of the places where alcohol is served for on-site consumption, TN law is equal with most states. And even better than many states.

Until Naifeh is replaced, nothing will change as far as gun laws. He's seen to it for decades now. He's not scared he'll lose because it's never even been a close enough election to make him feel threatened.

I placed this subject in the Lounge as well as here in the CCW Forum; it was not intended to cause contention but only to inform other Tennesseeans who maybe about to be required to renew their permits as to the length of time that is was taking to receive the new form. Nashville advised that a copy of the receipt maybe carried with the old permit as legal. However, many local LEO's know the law better than the fokes in Nashville, or they think they do. It would be a sad day to be stopped and a LEO give anyone a hard time just because they didn't have their up-to-date permit. My intent was to help not cause a problem. Renew a little early so as to negate the possibility of a problem. P.T.

Wow, 3 months to recieve your renewal? I thought my initial wait was excruciating. It took almost 2 months. Hopefully they get a little faster by the time mine is up for renewal. Roll Eyes
