I'll cast another vote for Looper Leather. This is the belt you want.

They have a fair number of colors to choose from. I've got an oil finish, black and dark brown. Love'em. Do expect to wait up to a month or so depending on your size. Bigger/longer might take a little longer to get.

You can easily make your own belts. Tandy leather Co. has all the makeins' and finishing stuff.

Or go to home depot and get a tough-as-hell work belt for 8-10 dollars. Then you can use Tandy finishers and make it look like a $40 belt.

Everybody on my family has belts I made from solid hides or (best) double shoulders.

Making belts is like reloading ammo: 1/8 the cost, better made for your purposes, and exactly the size and thickness for you.

Some of my most comfortable carrying rigs have 3-inch belts and pro-looking (home-made) holsters. You can either spend hundreds of dollars for rigs like that or make them yourself for just a few bucks.

Beltman (thanks again Wyatt!)
If you pro rate the belts expense over the years you'll use it, the water is less murky.
The one I bought, was a wider than standard (1 3/4").
I added the optional stiffener (not all have that available, nor is it needed often).
And the belt was available in 3 materials, with two configurations of hole positioning, and counts. (5@ 1" apart, Or, 7@ 3/4" apart)
Admittedly, I don't fluctuate more than 5 pounds in body weight. So for me, the belt will be a decade long association. There is NOTHING short of a BAR, that could not be hung off of this belt, comfortably! I'm notoriously cheap by nature, but this area is one I overlook that tendency in now.

Beltman in horsehide #1! Worth the expense.

Just received my Beltman yesterday and its by far the best I've ever owned. My 1911 rides high and comfortable. Fast service and a quality product.

Its a shame that youth is wasted on the young.

My fav..I have a gorgeous Alessi but I like the thinness of the wilderness with the same rigidity...the velcro also makes it infinitely adjustable so I don't have to find a loop hole...of course, I only wear mine with untucked shirts....nylon is not for anything dressy....
