I've always liked this set up, but am worried about the recoil in my 340PD with either +Ps or 357 SB. Any comments would be appreciated.

Order yourself a pair of the OEM rubber one for the small frame Taurus models. You need only to remove the locator pin from the bottom of your grip-frame to allow them to fit. Got to give the Brazillians credit on those grips. Smiler

Thanks for reading the posting RULES

I have to say, hard grips hurt a bit after 20 or 30 rounds in my airweight...I have shot the 340 and can't imagine it without rubber...which still was quite a hand slap....

Just think, Sipowitz, the laminated wood Altamont boot grips on my 360 PD started to split last time I fired 125 gr. Remington sizzlers in my 360. Big Grin There was no smiley face at the time. Man that hurts.

Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.

Myanof, I have wooden boot grips on my 360 PD and SB .357s are much more doable than 125 gr. handbreakers. I carry SB .357s in mine.

I would prefere wood boots on my 340PD and always wondered what the SB .357s would feel like in that config. Thanks

You know I really had my heart set on nice wood grips but after reading these replies I might just go with a quality rubber. Mad

It looks like I'm in the minority but for being able to get a proper grip on the gun consistently, shoot comfortably and accurately, I like the Uncle Mike's Combat grips. The combat style grips are a little bigger than boot grips but it's a good trade off, at least for me. I don't have any problems with concealment except pocket carry which doesn't work well with some trousers.

I don't have a photo of my gun with the combat grips on but here is what I'm talking about from the S&W website.
