I purchased one of these from Zahal. What I like about it is that allows for discreet carry. It also provides room for stuff that I do not like to carry in my pockets - cell phone, ball point pen, car keys, snuff can, etc. Its already getting hot here in Texas and getting harder to conceal comfortably "on the body". I got the blue one because I felt it blended in better. The tactical look doesn't fit with my normal style of dress. Even with shipping from Israel the bag is reasonable. http://www.zahal.org/rifle/p28.htm

Looks interesting however it screams "man purse" to me. Anytime I see a man wearing a fanny pack and trousers/jeans I automatically think CCW. To me and probably more than a few miscreants this would too.

That's similar in idea to this one from Wilderness Tactical.

I use a laptop computer for much of my charting. The targa case has a zipper compartment that fits my full size N frame 627. I keep my 340pd in my strong side front pocket. For what I do for a living, the laptop case looks perfectly normal and doesn't scream "shoot me first"

I am seriously considering picking something like this up as a diaper bag for the summer...as long as I need to carry one with the rugrat, might as well toss in the gun...the maxpedition wold probably work better since it has more room...

I really don't think the average person pays much attention to what is going on around them. If needed, I can present from the shoulder bag as quick as I can pull from a concealed holster rig. And again, the issue is staying concealed when the weather is hot. The bag is heat friendly. A big plus is that I can carry a full size 1911 in the bag. Plus an extra magazine, and any other junk that would otherwise load my pockets. It works for me. Quality of this bag is good. And the price is less than a quality holster. Just another option to consider.

Looks useful.....I rigged up something similar for myself using a small shoulder bag from Jansport and a Mika pocket holster. It's a nice alternative when my options are limited. Obviously I'm not going to wear it into the feed store as it would look completely out of place, but around town it blends in discreetly. Here in the Pacific NW these types of bags, including fanny packs, are worn by everyone from toddlers to grannies. I'll admitt I had to deal with the little voice inside that said "you're carrying a man purse !!??".....but I got over it. I have discovered from my many years of concealment, one can never have too many useful options. It's really all about blending in with your environment and what works for you !

- regards

Don't overlook the Wilderness "SafePacker"

That's how I carry semi-autos in the truck

If you're going to carry a manbag, you'd better have a gun in it.

Maybe it's just my warped views, but carrying that just reminds me of the contractor dopes I watched in Iraq who think no one will know they are armed because they have a photo vest over their gear. But, for the guy in the market for a tactical shoot-me-first purse, that might be the perfect product. Smiler

I assume you'll be able to document actual incidents of someone being shot for simply wearing a vest or shoulder bag? Or are you simply perpetuating the same old tired BS? You seem to be worried that someone won't think you're MANLY if you have something like that. You're the one with inadequacies, not the people who use sholder bags or vests.

I think it oughta work fine, but, frankly, I just can't see myself carrying what looks to me like a purse.

But I do think if it works for you, go ahead.

I also doubt that very many people would think, seeing a guy with this on his shoulder, that there was a gun inside. So that's a definite plus, I think.

Not for me. I'd set it down somewhere and forget it.

Don't get your very manly barb-wire laced panties in a bunch. I would never accuse you for lacking masculinity just because you like a purse. I'm sure it is a perfectly functional piece of gear, and it has the added benefit of holding other essentials like lip gloss, a small roll of duct tape, "protection" of whatever type you may need for your daily activities, etc. However, the photo vest/fanny pack belief that in a non-safari situation, the individual is probably armed, does hold some water. If you don't think so, perhaps your observation skills could use some developing. I just don't see the functional purpose of a tactical purse... In an urban environment, where you wanted to conceal a firearm off of your body and not identify yourself as likely armed, why would you carry the product linked above with its masculinity-enhancing mil-spec webbed purse strap, with optional ACU fabric? I could see this having a use maybe while hiking or conducting other sporting activities, but if you wear it to the mall, grocery store, office, etc., you are a dope. If you really wanted to prove your superior masculinity, you would carry the ultimate urban-camouflaged tactical carry-all pouch: the Vera Bradley diaper bag. Now there's a piece of gear that will blend in in the urban environment! I haven't carried one on the job, yet, but I did check the fit of an MP5K-PDW and it looks promising! Unfortunately, Ms. Bradley has not responded to my inquiry, yet, as to whether she will begin marketing a purse/carry-all that will accommodate a broken-down Barrett 82A1, but I am confident it is in the works.
