I've been deployed with the Army to Iraq since November 07 and it's just starting to slow down enough to check out my old forums. Nice to see some of the same people are still here. Back in January, based on my nagging, my wife finally got her CCW. It makes me feel a lot better knowing she has a little more protection while I am oceans away. She is very comfortable carrying now and has established a routine of bringing her little .38 with her.

When I redeploy to the States in November, I've decided to get my own CCW. I can't wait. Iraq is a lousy place to visit AND you don't want to live here. Smiler

Twenty plus years after getting married, Mrs. purple95 finally decided to get her carry permit. Her gun of choice is a Ruger SP-101 which she carries most of the time now.

I'm proud of her.

Thank you for your service to our country.

I'm proud of you.

Cheers,

From one Michigan soldier to another (125th and 126th inf. alumni), God bless you and stay safe. Thank you for going into harms way on our behalf. If your wife has any CCW questions invite her to join us here. Big Grin Who are you serving with and what's your MOS (provided you're not violating OPSEC by answering such things)?

Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.

Thanks for the offer, but I've got plenty of cleaning supplies. I have been here long enough to customize or order anything I needed. For example, my brother sent me an M9 holster for my armor vest and I discarded my issued M4 sling for (believe it or not) an old shoulder strap from a computer bag. Once again, thanks for your kind words.
