I carry full size revolvers. What would you like to Know?

Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.

+1

I addition to that I carry the 915 on occasion.

I have a 5903, the older style with the square trigger guard. Works fine carried in a shoulder rig (I have a Strong brand one) or OWB strong side, in either case under a cover garment. I don't like the "push up" to fire SW/Walther/Beretta style of safety, so I don't carry it much. The light weight makes it easy to carry.

I carry, among other things, a full size steel frame 1911 as of late, and like Flop Shank have carried N framed revolvers.

It's not a safety, it's a decocker. Decock and return back to FIRE before holstering. Then the pistol works like it should.

Ah, the joys of semantics. The manual calls it a safety, as do the parts schematics. I call it the same. A decocker is what a Sig has or a G series Beretta (or DC series Ruger) has, which *only* decocks the pistol and serves no other function.

Most S&W metal frame autos, classic Walthers, and F series Berettas have a safety lever that also functions as the decocker.

One can of course choose to carry their pistol off safe.

However, whatever you choose to call it, it still works the opposite of the BHP, 1911 and certain H&K variants (push down to make go bang) which is the style of safety that I prefer and that is intuitive for me. Your preference, and the original poster's will likely vary depending on what system you have the most experience with.

None of which is really germane to the OP's question as my comment was solely related to explaining that while I have a 5903, have carried it, and often carry larger and heavier guns, to explain why I don't regularly use it for my personal needs. There's nothing wrong with the gun, or the system if one finds TDA autos with a Walther style safety to be what they have the most experience with.

Smiler I rotate between a 5903 TSW and a Sig P229R. I love them both.

Also if one prefers decocker only, they can have it converted at S&W for about $125 if I remember right.

I sometimes carry my 5903 in my smartcarry or in a fanny pack. The one thing I did to make it more carry-able is to put a 3.5 inch slide from a 3914 or 6904 on it. That gives me compact length but full capacity and, more importantly, CTC makes lasergrips for the full-size frame.
