Wyatt- Thanks for info. I was misinformed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the new law also take away your civil liability if someone is injured/killed at your hands in a justified act of self defense?

Yes, but the 1997 law did that too.

Among other things the new law (Senate Bill 184) adds these enhancements to self defense:

1) The conditions justifying the use of deadly force are automatically present if someone is attempting to unlawfully enter your residence or vehicle. This was not the case in the 1997 law giving civil immunity from the use of self defense in the home.

2) It adds your vehicle as a place from which you do not have to retreat before using deadly force. This is new.

3) It extends civil immunity to instances of self defense outside the home. This is also new.

So we win. And that has the media bedwetters in the big cities peeing their pants. I love it! Smiler

I pay no attention to Ohio news media when it comes to self defense and concealed carry. Most of their reporting is shallow and often incorrect and biased against the issue. Their hysterics are meaningless since they do not make or try the law.

So the media plays no part in how or IF a case is prosecuted, huh?

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't.

Can you control them? Right, no. So screw them. Hire the best attorney that you cannot afford and work with him.

I, for one, do not listen to the media and do not care what they think.

I think the sign is along the lines of "Beware of Dog". Rather meaningless and left to the interpretation of the reader as to whether the dog bites or as a warning not to step on the sleeping pooch.

Just because someone posts a flyer, that doesn't necessarily mean there's any backbone to it.

I believe that it is a flyer, nothing more.If this was a truely serious group nothing would be said and in a given period of time there would be a increase in the # of dead armed robbers in a given area.As long as the "victim" wasn't flagrant in his "Baiting" they all would probably be adjudicated as clean shoots .I wonder what happened to the violent crime rate in this area after these flyers were posted. If there was a coresponding decrease than the poster had the desired effect for the cost of poster paper, printing, and his/her time in posting them.I might consider that a execellent return on investment........God Bless....Mike
