Maybe I should have included the first portion of the translation too?
quote:
For getting a starting-load, orient yourself on rounds with known load-data. Look for rounds with similar case volume and similar bullet diameter and reduce the max.-load of this rounds 25% (better 30%)
That's where the warning about reducing N205 and such fits in the overall picture.

IOW, don't reduce N205, and probably RL-22/MRP, especially in .243, because reduced load detonation/SEE is a very real possibility.

I agree that SEE/detonation was probably not the cause of the original incident. Smiler

Quick resurrection of this old thread: My young friend called yesterday, and he has received a complete new Rock River rifle, courtesy of UltraMax. He is a happy, and better educated, camper.

Good!! Sounds like they were even better to your buddy than they were to me. There's still no way in heck I'd buy or shoot that UM crap ever again.

UM tried to weasel him a little, but he stuck to his guns and worked directly with Rock River, as well. The folks at RR were great, other than being out of pocket for awhile at the NRA show. He won't be shooting any more Ultramax ammo, either. I've got him sold on Federal American Eagle for his plinking.

News flash: My friend just called, and he just received 1000 rounds of Speer Lawman .223 from Ultra Max. He's REALLY happy now! Big Grin
